Fractal AI Projects

Fractal AI is committed to advancing the field of AI and for this purpose we undertake funded projects with a special focus.

Fractal AI has received funding for two projects. The first is a citizen literacy study and paper, the second is an early careers event.

The citizen literacy project has the following aims:

  • Understand the needs of the wider public in relation to AI
  • Understand the educational gaps
  • Provide training and resources to plug the educational gaps
  • Work with parents and children to understand the risks involved with using AI and social media then provide resources on this

Citizen Literacy Project

The early careers event aims to provide students with a space to discuss their needs in relation to AI education. In 2024 Dr Oldfield gained funding to run a research school with the London Mathematical Society and LSE. A workshop outcomes paper was published from this which illustrated the concern students have with their education. The UK Education system does not have benchmarked teaching and assessment for students of any age with regards to AI therefore this gap has to be plugged. From the workshop outcomes we decided to hold an early careers event so that early careers professionals and students could access experts in AI, network, collaborate and be given a voice.

Early Careers Event

The feedback from this event will inform Fractal AI strategy moving forwards in terms of provision for early careers professionals.

You can sign up for the early careers event on the home page.
