Obligations to the Public
Members of FractAI:
- Shall be aware that their foremost obligation is always to the public good. A member’s obligations to any other party can never supersede this obligation. Members should avoid entering into undertakings which compromise this requirement.
- Shall perform their duties in such a fashion as to safeguard and promote their health and safety, as well as that of their colleagues and the public.
- Shall perform their duties accrediting to the highest professional standards and ethical principles. Members shall ensure the objectivity and reliability of any professional advice which they give, and shall not provide such advice in those domains in which they are not sufficiently knowledgeable or qualified.
Professional Obligations
Members of FractAI:
- Shall carry out their professional obligations with the due care and diligence required of them by their employer or client and by FractAI.
- Shall accept responsibility for their work and for the work of their subordinates. Members shall ensure that these subordinates are competent for the work they have been assigned and are treated with dignity and respect.
- Shall not improperly use their membership or position within FractAI for commercial or personal gain.
- Shall not use or attempt to use qualifications, certifications, designations or titles to which they are not entitled.
- Shall not enter into any contract or pledge the resources or credit of FractAI, or hold out that they have the power to do so, without specific written instructions from the Executive Committee.
- Shall not recklessly or maliciously damage, or so attempt to damage, the professional reputation, prospects or business of another member, organisation, employer or other relevant individual.
- Shall not improperly disclose any information which may reasonably be considered to be prejudicial to the business of any present or past employer, related organisation, FractAI or other relevant individual.
- Shall ensure, in handling or storing any information relating to professional activities or individuals, that they are compliant with the data-protection principles and requirements set out in the legislation applicable in the jurisdiction in which they are conducting their business.
- Shall maintain and develop their professional competences by attending to new developments and procedures within their field and by implementing their use so as to ensure the maintenance of the highest professional standards within their work.
- Shall maintain financial propriety in all their professional dealings with regulatory institutions, their employers and other individuals.
- Shall not unfairly discriminate in the course of their professional activities on the grounds of race, colour, religion, disability, sex, marital status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality or ethnic origin.
- Must always act within the law. Members are required to notify FractAI if they are convicted of any criminal offence. Members are required to notify FractAI if they are suspended from work by their employer.
Obligations to FractAI
Members of FractAI:
- Shall comply with FractAI’s Bylaws and Regulations.
- Shall have regard, in their private and public lives, to the reputation and good standing of both FractAI and its members. Members shall not act in such a manner as to bring into disrepute the reputation of FractAI in general or any member(s) in particular, either directly or indirectly.
- Shall not act in such a manner as would be considered inappropriate towards another member of FractAI or member of staff.
Should members of FractAI be in a situation which could compel action that would violate this Code of Conduct, members may seek professional advice and guidance from FractAI. This will be provided without charge or undue delay. Violation of the Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary action, as per the Regulations.
