Press Statement for Launch of Fractal AI

We are excited to announce the launch of the Foundation for Research, Accreditation, Communication and Training in AI. FRACTAI is an independent, non-profit organisation committed to the highest standards of research, public engagement and professional development. FRACTAI hosts the world leading AI Professional Accreditation.

Our accreditation verifies that practitioners are able to use AI both robustly and ethically and to  raise and deal with modelling challenges. This accreditation aims to close the gap between employers and practitioners by setting standards that are globally recognised and respected. Employers can trust that applicants’ work to the highest standards and applicants can prove their abilities and trustworthiness.

The FRACTAI Professional Accreditation Framework has been fully scrutinised and approved by specialists and experts from partner organisations in industry, government and academia.

We  approach AI related issues from an open and interdisciplinary perspective. Why? The current challenges presented by AI mean that we, humans, cannot rely just on those individuals with technical knowledge. We come from disciplines ranging from psychology,  philosophy, data science to political science and anthropology. This perspective led us to establish a new interdisciplinary journal because it enables many different disciplinary practitioners to showcase their work and build their professional reputations.

FRACTAI is collaborating with a number of UK universities and other institutions on our first funded research projects which aim to build AI literacy amongst UK citizens. This work has already generated considerable interest from the UK Government. We are excited to help shape legislation as this project develops.
